Imagine your first 90 days. You’ve mapped a new program’s manufacturing flow from quote to SOP, aligned cross-functional teams around a robust PFMEA, and stood up new equipment on the shop floor—complete with standardized work, Job Element Sheets, and a training plan that sticks. You’ve benchmarked solutions across sister plants and suppliers, influenced design-for-manufacture decisions with customers, and kept environmental considerations front and center in every change you release.
What you’ll take ownership of- Design end-to-end process flows and define manufacturing operations for new part quotations and launches.

- Coordinate manufacturing projects as the primary point of contact from kick-off through stabilization.
- Research, propose, and lead approved continuous improvement and technology development initiatives.
- Maintain and revise plant layout drawings in collaboration with operations, maintenance, and quality.
- Develop in-process prints and production tools, including GD&T stack-ups, CAD updates, and formal signoffs.
- Provide technical guidance to Sales and customers to influence product design and deliver cost-effective manufacturability.
- Report key engineering developments and corrective actions to leadership; maintain accurate records and contribute to standards/specifications.
- Benchmark processes and components across sister plants, suppliers, customers, and competitors to identify best practices.
- Champion MAFACT, lean manufacturing, standardized work, and continuous improvement across the division.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, MIOSHA/OSHA (including Lockout/Tagout), and company policies—always considering environmental impacts of production.
- Submit and support CI and safety improvements; share best practices and help drive a culture of learning.
- Develop and deliver training for newly rolled-out processes; adapt as business needs evolve.
- Juggle multiple initiatives while upholding Magna’s Employee Charter and values; perform additional duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or 3–5 years of related experience/training and/or equivalent education.
- Proven experience creating Manufacturing Process Prints, Standard Work Instructions, and Job Element Sheets.
- Automotive engineering background required; preferred exposure to injection molding, bonding, soldering, assembly, and/or stamping.
- Hands-on machine experience with strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic aptitude; skilled at troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in GD&T and application to stacks/tolerancing.

- Ability to interpret written/oral instructions, diagrams, and schedules—and address problems without standard solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; SolidWorks; and building effective spreadsheets.
- Excellent organization and priority management; comfortable meeting deadlines and working extended hours when required.
- Proactive mindset with a track record of recommending process, policy, and system improvements.
- Clear, professional communicator (verbal and written) in English; Spanish bilingual preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and continuing education.
- Solid applied math skills: probability, statistical inference, geometry, and practical calculations (fractions, percentages, ratios, rates, graphs).
