Registered Nurse – CVOR (Cardiovascular OR) | Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Registered Nurse (Cardiovascular Operating Room RN) to provide high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role focuses on cardiac surgery support, intraoperative nursing care, and patient safety in the OR.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in the cardiovascular OR (CVOR)
• Support surgical teams during cardiac and vascular procedures
• Utilize the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation
• Ensure accurate documentation and communication with surgical teams
• Assist with patient positioning, sterile technique, and intraoperative monitoring
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff

Schedule Details

• Multiple shift options:
  • 5x8s
  • 4x10s
  • 3x12s (starting at 6:00 AM)
• Shift windows:
  • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• On-call required: 48 hours per 6-week rotation
• Must be available 1 weekend per month
• Block scheduling available

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Active Michigan RN License
• BLS Certification required
• Strong clinical judgment and perioperative nursing skills

Must-Have Experience

• Cardiac scrub experience (required)
• Experience in CVOR or high-acuity surgical settings
• Ability to function in a fast-paced operating room environment
