Salary Range: $55,000 - $82,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise dimensional measurements using CMMs, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, and other metrology equipment.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot measurement instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and blueprints to determine measurement requirements and inspection plans.
  • Document and report measurement results accurately, including non-conformance issues, and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize CMM programs for automated inspection routines of complex parts.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, process variations, and support root cause analysis for quality improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, industry specifications (e.g., ISO, AS9100), and customer requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating and programming various metrology equipment (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with calibration procedures, measurement uncertainty, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025).
  • Aptitude for analyzing measurement data, troubleshooting equipment, and identifying root causes of measurement discrepancies.
  • Relevant technical degree or certification in metrology, quality, or a related engineering field, coupled with manufacturing experience.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for model interpretation and offline programming.
  • Experience operating and programming advanced metrology equipment such as laser trackers, structured light scanners, or vision systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) application and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles in a quality or metrology context.
