Summary:
As a Specialist I, HR, you will serve as the primary point of contact for employee leave management and compliance administration. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end leave processes while providing operational HR support to HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition teams. This position plays a critical role in ensuring legal compliance, accurate system documentation, and positive employee experience related to leaves of absence in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer all employee leave programs including FMLA, ADA, PLOA, USERRA, Workers’ Compensation, and short-term disability.
- Educate employees and managers on leave policies, eligibility, and documentation requirements.
- Review, audit, and track leave usage and ensure certifications are submitted in compliance with legal and company standards.
- Maintain accurate leave records in HRIS systems and ensure data integrity.
- Coordinate return-to-work documentation and clearance prior to employees resuming duties.
- Escalate medical restrictions, accommodations, and complex cases to HRBPs.
- Issue internal notices for delinquent documentation and support termination decisions when required.
- Support HRBPs with employee lifecycle transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, separations).
- Perform data entry and audits in HR systems (SAP, ADP, SuccessFactors).
- Prepare HR documentation and compliance records.
- Support onboarding activities including badges, shoe program, lunch registration, and system setup.
- Identify inefficiencies in leave and HR workflows and propose process improvements.
- Support HRIS projects, testing, and system updates related to leave modules.
- Maintain standardized documentation and SOPs for leave management.
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 1 to 3+ years of HR or related experience
- Direct experience with leave administration preferred.
- Manufacturing or high-volume environment strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of leave laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Workers’ Compensation)
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong communication skills with employees and managers
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
