General Responsibilities
ESD-U is a teacher preparation program operated by ESD 112 that offers alternative routes to teacher certification, as well as a ‘retooling’ route for currently certified teachers seeking to add an endorsement. The mission of ESD-U is to help meet the needs of districts in shortage areas and diversify workforce efforts. ESD-U operates with a ‘grow-your-own model’, where candidates in the program complete coursework while simultaneously completing field experience requirements through an employed or volunteer position with a school, district, or other institution of learning. For more information, visit
ESD-U instructors are responsible for creating, instructing, and grading their assigned courses. Additionally, instructors serve as faculty advisors to the program, communicating and collaborating throughout the year to provide feedback and to identify and implement plans for program improvement relating to courses, curriculum, and program design. Instructors also contribute to the evaluation of candidates for recommendation and ensure that an artifact from the course is submitted for the candidate’s capstone portfolio.
ESD-U is specifically looking for an instructor to teach ELEM 405 Math/STEM Methods #1. For more information about this course, review the ESD-U Course Descriptions.
