B-Level Automotive Service TechnicianVIP Auto Repair – Westland, MI

VIP Auto Repair is looking for a motivated and dependable B-Level Automotive Service Technician to join our growing team.

We're looking for a technician who has a solid foundation in automotive repair, enjoys solving problems, and wants to continue growing their diagnostic abilities alongside an experienced team.

What You'll Do

As a B-Level Automotive Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing quality repairs, routine maintenance, and intermediate-level diagnostics while supporting our commitment to delivering a World Class Customer Experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Properly diagnose and repair a wide variety of vehicle concerns

• Perform complete vehicle inspections and identify necessary repairs and maintenance

• Perform brake, steering, suspension, cooling system, HVAC, engine, and drivetrain repairs

• Diagnose common drivability, electrical, and check engine light concerns

• Perform scheduled maintenance services according to manufacturer recommendations

• Accurately document inspection findings and repair recommendations

• Communicate vehicle conditions clearly with the service advisor

• Follow manufacturer procedures and shop quality standards

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Continue developing diagnostic and technical skills through ongoing training

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys learning, and wants to become an even stronger technician.

Requirements:

• State of Michigan certification and/or ASE certifications (required)

• Minimum of 3 years of professional automotive repair experience preferred

• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and mechanical repair

• Ability to perform repairs with minimal supervision

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Preferred Skills & Qualities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Experience diagnosing check engine lights and drivability concerns

• Comfortable using scan tools and modern diagnostic equipment

• Ability to read service information and wiring diagrams

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Dependable and punctual

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Pride in producing quality work and standing behind repairs
