Multi-year contract - hybrid - 1 day a week in the office, may move to 2 days. This role will serve as a subject matter expert on data security, capable of partnering across technical and business teams to interpret, influence, and strengthen our data security and privacy posture.

Will be working in a corporate healthcare environment- anyone with healthcare industry experience will; be looked at first.

BS degree in Computer Science or IT.

Experience :
o 5 years of IT and security work experience with a broad range of exposure to systems analysis, application development, systems administration and 2 years of experience with IT security required.
o In-depth knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms required.
o Experience designing and implementing security solutions.
o A high proficiency level in specific job-related skills is required.
o Information Security certification preferred - Security Certification (i.e., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)).

• Technical Skills:
o Familiarity with endpoint security, network security, or cloud security concepts.
o Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking fundamentals.
o Exposure to DSPM technology.
o Basic scripting or automation knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
o Experience with database management systems like Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL server .
o Deep knowledge in database design, development, and administration.

The role:

o Assist in the configuration, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of a DSPM Solution.
o Partners with engineering and architecture for deployment, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Data Classification, Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Insider Risk, and CASB technologies.
o Administer, optimize and manage policy development, rule tuning, and platform configuration across a DSPM tool.
o Monitor DSPM system health, performance, and alerts, escalating issues as necessary.
o Support the creation, modification, and tuning of Data in Motion and Data at Rest policies to align with business and security requirements.
o Deep understanding and hands on experience with core data protection functions: classification, discovery, encryption, masking, anomaly detection.
o Analyze sensitive data flows, identify exposure and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
o Participate in the testing and validation of new Data Security rules and features.
o Proven experience configuring and deploying DSPM/DLP/CASB Threat policies to enhance data security and data privacy efforts and reduce organizational risk.
o Identify security gaps in business processes involving sensitive data and lead remediation planning.
o Document procedures, playbooks, detection logic, and architectural decisions for long-term maintainability.
