Warehouse/Delivery Driver

You love a safe, clean, and organized warehouse, and you take pride in keeping it that way. You know the inventory, how much we have, and you are the guru when it comes to how a warehouse operates effectively.

How You Show Up

You will be representing Behler-Young, so your customer service is on point.

Since you are an awesome delivery driver, you always comply with DOT regulations.

You will move, you will lift up to 50lbs, you will climb, and you will stand for extended periods of time. Not a problem, because you are an active individual.

You take pride in getting the details right. You are person who is keen on administrative duties and submit the appropriate paperwork when needed.

You love to learn and develop yourself professionally.

The day to day

Your day usually begins around 6:00 am and ends around 3:00 pm, but it could vary sometimes based on the needs of the team.

Your main responsibilities for inbound shipments will be unloading trucks, determining accuracy of the shipment, receiving product into inventory, and putting items in their correct location. You will also complete all paperwork associated with these tasks.

Just as important is preparing product for outgoing shipments which may be via Behler-Young shipment, UPS, RPS, or LTL.

You will know the inventory in the warehouse and make sure you replenish at appropriate levels.

When the team needs help, you make sure you add value to customer service by pulling orders as needed.

The warehouse is your domain, and you make sure that it is swept, trash emptied, and all equipment is maintained.

Loading and unloading trucks at the delivery site, branches, and distribution center is one of your favorite responsibilities.

There will be times when you will not be in the warehouse and will be doing more driving, and visa versa, but that is ok because you enjoy both environments and don’t mind a change of pace.

Sometimes you will be asked to fill in for your teammates for vacations or other leaves on different shifts; your strong work ethic and “do whatever it takes” attitude make you eager for additional responsibility.

What You Have

The physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb, squat, bend, walk, and sit or stand for long periods of time.

You are not scared of computer or picking systems, and you are happy to learn ours.

You are proud to have a chauffeur’s license and DOT medical card with a good driving record (no more than 4 points).

You’ve seen some things and done some things. You have experience driving a box truck in all seasons of the Michigan climate, and in both rural and urban settings.

You are familiar with and know how to use (or are happy to learn): lift gate, pallet jack, two-wheeled hand cart while driving the truck. In the warehouse, you get to use all kinds of fun equipment: stand-up and sit-down forklifts, order pickers, clamp truck, and pallet jack. At the counter, you will become a guru of our computer system.

Knowledge of all warehouse and DOT safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
