About the Opportunity

A growing steel pipe manufacturing company in Michigan is hiring an experienced SMAW / MIG Welder to support production operations.

This role is ideal for a welder who understands industrial-level quality standards and takes pride in consistency, precision, and workmanship. Candidates must be able to pass a hands-on weld test on required materials and positions. AWS certifications are valued, but real-world performance will be the deciding factor.

This is a long-term opportunity within a stable, production-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

• Perform SMAW (Stick) and MIG welding in a steel pipe manufacturing environment

• Weld heavy wall material, structural components, and pipe as required

• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and production drawings

• Maintain consistent weld penetration and quality standards

• Follow AWS guidelines where applicable

• Work closely with production and quality teams to meet output goals

• Maintain a safe and organized workspace

What You Bring

• 5–8 years of hands-on SMAW and MIG welding experience

• Ability to pass a practical weld test on required materials and positions

• Experience welding pipe, heavy wall material, or structural steel

• AWS certification preferred (not required if skills demonstrate proficiency)

• Strong understanding of weld integrity and heat control

• Dependable work history with lower churn risk

• Flexibility for off-shift schedules if required
