Job Summary

We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Respiratory Therapist. Apply scientific knowledge/therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. As a team member in delivery of respiratory services, and under medical direction, performs a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs, including those in the Pediatric areas.

Job Description

• Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurate documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
• Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe. Maintains competency in the areas of accountability.
• Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.
• Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
• Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

• Apply scientific knowledge/therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy – Required
• Bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy – Preferred

LIC - Respiratory Therapist – State of Michigan

• Issued by: State of Michigan
• Time Frame: Upon Hire
• Requirement: Required

CRT - Respiratory Therapist Certification - NBRC

• Issued by: National Board of Respiratory Care
• Time Frame: Upon Hire

CRT - Respiratory Therapist Registry – NBRC

• Excludes RTs in CHW regional hospitals and ambulatory locations with at least 10 years of RT licensure

• Issued by: National Board of Respiratory Care
• Time Frame: Within 1 Year
• Requirement: Required

CRT - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA

• Regional Hospitals and NICU

• Issued by: American Heart Association
• Time Frame: Within 90 Days
• Requirement: Required

CRT - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA

• Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab

Additional Requirements

• MI RT license (must have in hand prior to start date)
• Must live an hour away from facility
• SHIFT/HOURS: 12 hours - 6:30pm-7:00am
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
• Scrub Color: Hunter Green

Pay Rate/Salary

• $59.00 per hour
