Regional Vice President - Human Resources Location: Mount Clemens, MI (**this position will require to travel frequently to different locations in Macomb/Oakland county**) Position Summary: Responsible for comprehensive support to the organization through creation and implementation of Human Resources strategic plans consistent with organizational and corporate goals and objectives. Primary responsibility for creating and maintaining sound Human Resources policies and practices covering employment, labor and employee relations, wage and salary administration, orientation and training, and benefits and employee services. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:- Creates Human Resources strategic plans consistent with organizational and corporate goals and objectives. Provides guidance and direction to the executive management team on Human Resources issues.
- Works on system-wide Human Resources initiatives and programs, as well as being responsible for administering and communicating system-wide programs at McLaren Macomb.
- Develop and lead a staff of Human Resources professionals constantly seeks opportunities to have the department work more efficiently and effectively while achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Direct recruitment and retention programs. Assures that staffing needs are met and turn over is kept at an acceptable level. Coordinates the selection process of McLaren Macomb leadership level staff. Provides leadership and direction for workforce planning, talent management, on boarding and McLaren Macomb succession planning programs.
- Formulates and approves local Human Resources policies and objectives of McLaren Macomb. Defines and directs the interpretation and application of established Human Resources policies and procedures throughout the organization.
- Responsible for administration of wage and salary policies and structures, and for performance appraisal programs. Assures that the organization's compensation program is competitive and equitable and in keeping with the company's compensation philosophy.
- Responsible for all aspects of labor relations including the preparation for and represents the organization as chief spokesperson in labor contract negotiations, contract administration, and grievances. Maintain constructive labor management relations.
- Oversees the administration and communication of health and welfare benefit programs at McLaren Macomb.
- Directs various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale including protecting the interest of both employees and leadership at McLaren Macomb in accordance with the organization's Human Resources policies and assuring compliance with appropriate governmental laws and regulations. Also facilitates the use of employee commitment and recognition programs.
- Directs the preparation and maintenance of reports that are necessary to carry out functions of the department. Creates and maintains records, reports, and other documentation related to Human Resources administration.
- Assists in training and development activities, inclusive of management in-services, systems introduction, and employee open forums.
- Participates in the development and administration of the annual budget and contributes to sound financial practices.
- Facilitates and coordinates compliance with accrediting body requirements.
- Represents McLaren Macomb through a wide range of internal, external and community activities.
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the McLaren Health Care Vision, and Mission Statements.
- Performs other related job duties as requested.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Seven (7) years of progressively more responsible Human Resources professional experience, including experience in labor relations and contract negotiations, compensation, benefits, and employment.
- Three (3) years at management level.
- Post-graduate degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Law or a related field.
- Prior experience in healthcare.
