Job DescriptionAs a Security Professional - Retail Site - Multiple Shifts in Portage, MI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.
As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment within a busy retail location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols throughout the premises, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing exceptional customer service to visitors and staff. By fostering open communication and creating a welcoming atmosphere, you will contribute to a positive experience for everyone at the location. Job Schedule:
DayTimeMon05:00 PM - 11:30 PMTue11:00 AM - 11:30 PMSun11:00 AM - 11:30 PMWhat You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, respond to emergency situations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and observe for unusual circumstances.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter theft, unauthorized access, and/or other unwanted behavior.
- Document and report incidents, observations, and/or suspicious activity according to site procedures and Allied Universal protocols.
- Assist with access control, crowd management, and/or policy enforcement as required by the location.
- Support emergency response activities as needed, including assisting with evacuations and coordinating with local authorities if directed.

Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
