As a RN - Mother Baby at MercyOne, you will serve as a clinician, team member, and professional and practices under these roles according to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Standards of Practice and Professional Performance (2004). The Registered Professional Nurse is accountable for the delivery of evidence-based, safe, efficient and family centered care in order to achieve the Mission of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center and the Vision of Patient Care Services. + Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse as outlined in the Iowa Nurse Practice Act (2006); retains accountability for one's own nursing practice. + Responsible for planning, assessing, intervening, co-coordinating and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills. + Communicates with physicians, ancillary care-givers, patients and families regarding the patient's plan of care. + Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body, mind and spirit) nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center. + Performs assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs. **Schedule:** + 7:00 pm - 7:30 am; every third weekend and holiday rotation **General Requirements:** + Active registration for Registered Nurse - Board of Nursing, State of Iowa + Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; + Labor/Delivery experience preferred. + Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire. + PALS certification required within one year of hire date. + NRP required within 6 months of hire. + EFM certification preferred. If not certified, required within one year of starting labor and delivery orientation. + Certification by a nationally recognized nursing organization preferred. + Continuously seek opportunities to enhance own professional nursing practice. + Membership in an appropriate professional nursing organization is recommended. + Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment. + Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. + Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of MercyOne. **Education:** + Associate's degree or diploma from an accredited school of nursing.
