Salary Range: $53,000 - $80,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dimensional and visual inspections of first article parts against engineering specifications.
• Utilize a wide range of precision measuring equipment, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
• Generate and maintain accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), including AS9102 forms.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances or deviations from specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure product conformity.
• Verify material certifications and special process approvals as required by specifications.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Expertise in using precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
• Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and inspection methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately document inspection results and generate comprehensive First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills for identifying critical non-conformances.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Technician (CQT) certification
• Experience programming and operating CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
• Proficiency with statistical process control (SPC) software or methodologies
• Advanced GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) training or certification
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
