Role Summary
The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing and improving electrical systems used in manufacturing equipment. This role involves developing electrical machine designs, programming control systems, and identifying opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, and cost effectiveness. The position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams while supporting the implementation of design enhancements in a manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for machines and electrical panels
- Develop and maintain PLC programming for equipment functionality
- Identify opportunities for design optimization, process improvement, and cost reduction
- Create conceptual drawings, technical documentation, and implementation guidelines
- Communicate design improvements and support implementation with engineering teams
- Analyze and design parts, components, assemblies, and system configurations
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to implemented designs
Technical Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret and develop technical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, milling, soldering, and drilling
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Experience in improving design quality, production processes, and system performance
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred
- 4–6 years of experience in electrical or design engineering roles
- 1–3 years of experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Experience in troubleshooting issues related to design implementation
