We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Custom Framer to join our team!

Our tight-nit team takes great pride in the quality of our services, and the custom framing department is a large facet of that. We frame a large variety of artwork and memorabilia for our clients and the gallery display. Candidates must have the skills necessary to properly handle and frame works on paper, canvas, as well as various objects like sports and historical memorabilia (including jerseys), and more. There is never a day that will go by when you won't feel creatively challenged. If this sounds like something you are seeking, we would love to have you.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of Custom Framing experience (primarily production)
• A high level of attention to detail
• Must have the experience and ability to manually cut window mats efficiently using a tabletop mat cutter (Fletcher 2200 or similar)
• Must have a working knowledge of basic custom framing practices such as hinge mounting, museum mounting, canvas stretching, etc.
• Must have experience with cutting glass and safely handling large sheets of glass
• Experience with handling museum-grade, high-ticket artwork
• Experience with specialty framing (shadow boxing, cross-stitch stretching, etc.)
• Good eye for design
• Excellent customer service skills with the desire to maintain and build an ongoing and referral client base
• An outgoing personality. Must be able to work independently or as a team
• Customer-driven, goal-oriented, highly motivated, and able to communicate and influence effectively
• A high level of ownership and accountability
• The ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced environment for extended periods.
• The ability to use power tools such as a chop/miter saw and drills
• The ability to lift at least 50 pounds, to bend and climb ladders to merchandise, and hang artwork when needed.
• Computer skills including custom picture framing software, Microsoft Word, and e-mail

Position Roles:

• Complete client and gallery orders on time with precise attention to detail
• Work with clients to design custom framing orders and advise on best design practices
• Create weekly purchase orders for supplies and materials
• Contact vendors & stay abreast with backorders, delays, and order issues
• Contact clients promptly with project completions and/or any delays to their order
• Maintain an organized workspace and sales counter.
• Maintain the frame display wall and mat-board samples.
• Assist with the delivery and installation of artwork in clients’ homes (on an as-needed basis)
• Unpack incoming merchandise and pack items for shipping (on an as-needed basis)
• Help with maintaining the appearance of the gallery, consisting of organizing, displaying home accessories, and hanging artwork
• Participation in gallery events, artist receptions, charity events, etc.
• Participation in staff meetings and ongoing sales training to learn about the latest advances in sales and framing.
• Offer/Help load the client’s vehicles with purchases to prevent damage.
• Wrap artwork purchased and completed framing orders throughout the day.

Clients always come first! We do all that we can to assist each other to ensure that it is a top priority, whether that is coming out to assist on the sales floor with wrapping orders, keeping up the gallery appearance if you are not currently working on a project, or coming out to say hello to a client whom you have consistently worked with. Working together on this main focus as a team is how we have remained a successful gallery.
