This is a travel job where you work at night and are away from home. For some clients, the travel is for months at a time, for others, if you live in MI, your travel may be just throughout the week and home on weekends. Your hotel, gas and travel time is paid for.
We’re looking for experienced fixture installers or retail construction professionals with leadership skills to join our travel team:This position is a skilled position, whereupon the person shall be able to perform the necessary skills and competencies accurately and within established procedures. This position is a supervisory position.
Skills:
Perform supervision duties such as managing the team, leading and ensuring the work is done properly and in a timely manner; handling conflict on the jobsite, reporting all issues
to Project Manager and HR; inspiring team members to work as a team and complete the job in accordance with DisplayMax procedures and policies
Accurately utilize reporting methods
Ability to utilize computers and various software programs/apps with ease
Ability to communicate on all aspects to the job with supervisors and team mates and in a timely manner
Proper use of time management
Proper Workplace Safety
Advanced knowledge and understanding of all Fixtures and installation thereof
Advanced knowledge and capability of merchandising techniques
Advanced understanding and ability to complete Gondola moves and builds
Ability to read and follow store fixture maps
Knowledge to understand painting techniques/concepts and ability perform in an adequate manner
Advanced knowledge in patchwork techniques/concepts and ability to perform in an adequate manner
Advanced knowledge in floor repair techniques/concepts and ability to perform in an adequate manner
Advanced knowledge in framing techniques/concepts and ability to perform in an adequate manner
Advanced knowledge in finish carpentry techniques/concepts and ability to perform in an adequate manner
Knowledge and ability to write in professional manner
Knowledge in trailer hookups and ability to perform in an adequate manner
Knowledge in Rigging/Load Binding and ability to perform in an adequate manner
Conduct themselves in a professional manner with customers and team members
Qualifications:
Ability to lift 50 lbs or more in the regular course of work
A valid driver’s license
A reliable form of transportation
Proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Commitment to excellence and high standards
Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions
Ability to perform the physical labor necessary
Position Duties:
Assist the Lead in management of the team, ensue that team members have assignments and are completing them.
Assist the Lead in completing and submitting daily reports accurately and timely, as assigned.
Complete evaluations and assessments on team members as required.
Assist the Lead in ensuring the safety of the jobsite and report any concerns to lead and PM.
Assist the Lead in ensuring team members are clocking in and out appropriately.
Assist the Lead in ensuring that all scope of work is complete and the jobsite is clean with all materials and trash put in the correct areas.
Report to HR any issues with team members (tardy, no call, no show, work behavior/attitude, etc.).
Training new team members on the job specifics.
Act as the lead and assume all lead responsibilities, in the absence of the lead.
And any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
