Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan 49048
• Unit: 3N - Medical Surgical/Cardiac Telemetry (54 beds)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, travel nurse contract
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: November 10, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 4x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,890 - $1,940 per week
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Floating: May float within hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Charting System: Cerner

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; willingness to obtain Michigan RN license if needed
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Telemetry RN or Medical Surgical Registered Nurse
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (pending certifications accepted)
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, including heart failure, myocardial infarction, stroke, arrhythmias, and chest pain
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and respond to rapid response situations
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage central/PICC lines
• Care for patients with feeding tubes, tracheostomies, and non-invasive airway management needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to qualified nursing units as needed based on census and patient acuity
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner
• Participate in orientation and complete required training modules prior to start date
