Grants and Funded Projects Specialist
IN THIS ROLE:
You will manage the accounting, budgeting, compliance, reporting, and reimbursement functions for Federal, State, and Local grants and funded projects for Oakland Schools.
WHAT WE NEED:
We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative team member with exceptional communication and organizational skills. In this role you will manage several grant programs concurrently and therefore must possess analytical, forward-thinking, problem-solving skills and meet grantor agency deadlines. You will:
- Develop, implement, and maintain grant and funded project revenue and expenditure
- Perform daily oversight of grant-related revenue and expenditure transactions and request
- Maintain current knowledge of generally accepted governmental accounting principles and
- Monitor compliance of Oakland Schools' grants and funded project accounting and initiates
- Participate in preparation for annual audit.
- Work cooperatively with grant program managers, auditors, local education authorities
- Reconcile accounts against established budgets, prepares and enters adjustments to the
- Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting/financial reports.
- Perform in-depth grant training for staff members.
- Assist the Controller with updates to the Federal Grant Policy Manual.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- An Associate's degree in Accounting and/or equivalent experience. Bachelors preferred
- Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) Business Office Specialist certification
- 3-4 years of related experience ingrant accounting
- Experience with developing and monitoring budgets.
SALARY DETAILS:
$62,272 - $72,216 based on experience, with the potential of earning up to $77,770 annually / Exempt Position / 12-month work year
