A leading auto insurance provider with operations across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan is expanding its footprint in Michigan and seeking an experienced Supervising PIP Defense Attorney . Responsibilities:

• Manage and litigate a PIP caseload from inception through trial and appeal.
• Take and defend depositions, present witnesses, negotiate settlements, and try cases.
• Supervise and mentor a team of 10+ attorneys within the PIP department.
• Oversee onboarding of staff attorneys and provide consistent coaching.
• Audit and review attorney files to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
• Direct support staff on administrative and clerical matters.
• Work in a paperless electronic environment, ensuring efficiency and precision in case handling.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience handling PIP litigation from start to finish.
• Prior supervision of attorneys (2+ years) strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and take responsibility for case outcomes.
• Knowledge of Michigan discovery rules, trial procedures, and substantive law .
• Experience with lay and expert witness examinations.
• First-chair trial attorney experience required.
• Strong technology skills (Word, Outlook, Westlaw, courtroom presentation tools).
• Insurance defense experience is a plus .
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Active law license in Michigan , member in good standing.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $145,000 $170,000 annually, based on experience.
