Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up manufacturing equipment (e.g., CNC machines, presses, assembly lines) for production runs.
• Install, align, and adjust tooling, fixtures, dies, and other components according to specifications.
• Perform first-piece inspections and conduct quality checks to ensure product specifications are met after setup.
• Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical, electrical, or programming issues during setup and initial production.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and calibration on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Document setup parameters, procedures, and any modifications for future reference and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production operators, engineers, and supervisors to optimize setup times and production efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate, set up, and adjust manufacturing machinery.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment malfunctions.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) and quality control procedures.
• Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming or industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software for reviewing designs or creating simple fixtures.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Certifications in specialized areas such as welding, advanced machining, or hydraulics.
