Counter Sales Representative - Multi Site
Position Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday
Exotic Automation & Supply is looking for a Counter Sales Representative to join our team in a full-time capacity in the areas of Taylor, Ann Arbor, and Livonia!
In this role, you will be trained to perform all Parker Store Customer Service and Warehouse Operations providing coverage at our various locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, opening/operating/closing the store, assisting customers in person and over the phone, entering orders into business system, reviewing/pulling/preparing/packaging/shipping orders, and ensuring all other general store operations are performed according to procedures and policies.
Essential Job Functions:
• Opening Store location by preparing customer area, warehouse area, and personal work area by following daily checklist (provided.)
• Performs all of the day to day operations at assigned Parker Store according to approved procedures and processes to ensure optimum customer service levels and performance.
• Responsible for understanding, meeting and servicing customer needs by greeting customers courteously and quickly (both in person and over the phone) and assisting/resolving requests and/or problems in a prompt and professional manner.
• Sells products and services while offering add-ons that may benefit the customer and suggests alternative products when a customer-requested product is not available.
• Continuously develops knowledge of products, inventory levels/locations, customer base and sales techniques.
• Processes all requests for quotes (RFQs) and follows up to ensure orders are booked.
• Processes all returns according to RMA procedures (cash and credit).
• Manufacturers hose assemblies.
• Pulls stock, packages, inspects, labels and processes all paperwork for orders using business system.
• Maintains inventory and performs all required cycle counting.
• Receives in daily stock shipments and ships out customer orders Including scheduling pickups through FedEx and UPS.
• Participates in the outbound cold calling program and complies with monthly quantity of call requirements.
• Maintains store cleanliness standards.
• Appropriately documents customer concerns per policy/procedure.
• Maintains current sales literature library, end cap displays and in-store promotional advertisements.
• Maintains cash drawer and performs weekly cash deposit transactions.
• Closes the store location with clean up and prep for the next days business by following daily checklist procedures.

• Maintains necessary job certifications by completing training assigned when due.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• High School Diploma (required).• Previous customer service work experience (retail environment preferred).
• Basic PC skills (MS Office and POS/Business System).
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
• Mechanical aptitude a plus.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills required to provide full support of company initiatives.
• Analytical skills needed to identify root causes of problems, generate alternatives, draw logical conclusions and decide on appropriate course of action after careful examination of relevant information and consideration of critical business issues.
