Position Summary
The Print Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining roll and cut‑sheet printing equipment, supporting daily production schedules, and ensuring high-quality output. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and perform tasks such as sorting, operating roll-fed and cut‑sheet printers, and preparing machines for production.
- Interpret and follow weekly and daily production schedules.
- Cross-train and assist in other production areas as needed.
- Ensure all assigned work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and all company safety standards.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements at all times.
- Assemble printed products to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflow, productivity, and overall efficiency.
- Schedule time off in a way that supports continued department operations.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 55 lbs, standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and overhead movements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and understand English-language safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and manuals.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using basic units of measurement such as weight, volume, and quantity.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common‑sense understanding to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions.
- Ability to problem‑solve when faced with concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and kneeling.
- Exposure to loud noise and vibration from machinery.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this role, the employee may be exposed to:
- Moving mechanical parts
- Cleaning fluids and solvents
- Lubrication oils
- Paper dust
- Moderate to high noise levels (hearing protection may be required)
