- Provide customer service to all patients and answer questions regarding medial accounts.
- Explain insurance benefits to patients regarding Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and balances.
- Collect updated insurance information from patients and notify billing specialist of changes.
- Assist patients with terms for repayment structures by setting up payment plans.
- Generate statements for patients.
- Review rejected statements containing invalid information. Update said information and resubmit.
- Review delinquent accounts and submit to collection agency.
- Enter qualifying accounts into Medicare Bad Debt spreadsheet.
- Contact patients to inform of overdue balances.
- Serve as back up for front desk.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives.
