Field Technician

TEKsystems has a client is looking for a Field Technician in the Lansing area to help them with troubleshooting and deploying technology on their job sites. This person will be in-office 5 days a week unless they are traveling to job sites. This is a contract to hire role with the target of bringing on full-time after 6 months.

The Field Technician provides hands-on technical support for job sites, ensuring teams have reliable access to the technology they need. This role bridges office IT systems with active construction environments through on-site setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.

• Field Technology Setup & Support
• Configure and maintain job site trailers, networking equipment, Wi‑Fi, and printers.
• Deploy and support field hardware such as iPads, laptops, and meeting room devices.
• Service Desk & Troubleshooting
• Manage and respond to IT support tickets, prioritizing field issues.
• Provide Tier 1 support for hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
• Document all work in the ticketing system.
• On‑Site Engagement
• Visit job sites regularly to perform preventative maintenance.
• Serve as the primary IT contact for project teams and support infrastructure needs.
• Asset Management
• Track and manage technology equipment and inventory across projects.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 2+ years in IT support; construction/AEC industry experience is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Windows 10/11 and iOS proficiency
• Basic networking knowledge (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi troubleshooting)
• Familiarity with peripherals and A/V setups

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
