Part-Time Mechanic – Landscaping Equipment

We are an established landscaping company in Oak Park seeking a part-time, independent mechanic (1099)to maintain and repair our equipment and fleet. This role is ideal for a retired or semi-retired mechanic , or an experienced technician looking for flexible, part-time work .

Schedule:
• Flexible days and hours
• Year-round, part-time opportunity
• No expectation of full-time work

Compensation:
• Up to $40/hour , depending on experience
• 1099 independent contractor position

Responsibilities:
• Repair and maintenance of small engines (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
• Basic to intermediate work on gasoline and diesel engines
• Welding and light fabrication repairs
• Minor body work and equipment repairs
• Preventative maintenance to keep equipment reliable and safe

Qualifications:
• Proven mechanical experience (professional or hands-on trade experience)
• Strong small-engine knowledge
• Working knowledge of gas and diesel systems
• Welding/fabrication experience (MIG preferred)
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot effectively
• Reliable, safety-focused, and detail-oriented

Nice to Have:
• Experience with landscaping or construction equipment
• Retired trades or fleet maintenance background

This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys mechanical work without the demands of a full-time schedule.
