Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Short Stay (Telemetry) position requiring at least 1 year of cardiac unit experience and competency with venous sheath pulls.

Details

• Cardiac Short Stay unit specializing in pre- and post-cardiovascular (CVL) procedure care
• Unit operates 24 hours a day to support patient throughput
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (0600–1830)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume and census
• Must work 2 out of 3 holidays
• Charting system: Cerner PowerChart (experience required)

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required; pending license accepted if application is submitted within 24 hours of offer
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year on a cardiac unit
• Competency with venous sheath pulls required
• Proficiency with Cerner PowerChart required
• IV therapy, central line care and management, PICC line management, and peripheral line care experience required
• Experience with cardiac drip management (non-titrating), heparin protocols, and thrombolytic agents
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate

Additional Information

• Provides pre- and post-procedure nursing care to cardiac short stay patients, including sheath removal and cardiac monitoring
• Candidate must not have worked at this facility within the past 3 years to be eligible as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Up to 8 hours of pre-start online modules are required to be completed within 1 week of signing; modules are self-reported and completed before the start date
• This is considered a sensitive account — professional conduct, including attendance and behavior, is taken very seriously and violations may result in immediate contract termination
• Max RTO for the contract is 10 days; if RTO falls during holidays, traveler must still be willing to work at least 1 of the 3 holidays
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
