About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a 45-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan. The assignment begins on September 12, 2025, and involves working various shifts ranging from 9 to 10 hours, with the possibility of 12-hour shifts. The physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive emergency care in a hospital setting, handling a wide range of cases including adult and pediatric outpatient care, newborn resuscitation, orthopedic procedures, psychiatric evaluations, and various emergency-related procedures. This position offers a diverse schedule and the opportunity for extension.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages
2. Perform adult and pediatric outpatient care
3. Conduct newborn resuscitations when necessary
4. Manage non-displaced fractures and perform minor orthopedic procedures
5. Suture minor lacerations and perform incision and drainage procedures
6. Evaluate and treat uncomplicated psychiatric cases for adults, children/adolescents, and geriatric patients
7. Diagnose and manage common industrial-related medical problems
8. Establish and maintain airways, managing ventilation for up to 24 hours without pulmonary consultation
9. Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
10. Insert central and arterial lines
11. Interpret EKGs
12. Perform various procedures including arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, and paracentesis
13. Conduct other emergency medicine-related procedures as needed

Additional Information:

• Must be licensed to practice in Michigan
• Experience with Cerner EMR system preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills essential
