Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Truck and Trailer Maintenance Mechanic to join our team and play a vital role in the repair, maintenance, and management of our truck and trailer fleet. This position is crucial for ensuring optimal safety and efficiency in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks for trucks and trailers.
• Collaborate with drivers to diagnose equipment issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Replace tires as required while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Carry out preventative maintenance according to established schedules and document all findings.
• Identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Uphold 5-S standards to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Suggest initiatives to improve working conditions and boost shop efficiency.
• Follow company policies and safety regulations diligently.
• Assist with janitorial, landscaping, and waste removal tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, candidates should possess the following:

Experience & Education:

• 2-4 years of experience in truck and trailer maintenance or a relevant combination of education and experience.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to interpret written, oral, and diagrammatic instructions.
• Ability to navigate issues involving multiple variables in standardized environments.
• Physical stamina to stand or walk for extended periods and perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Capacity to occasionally reach with hands and arms, with the ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Clauses 7.1.3 and 7.1.4 is an asset, though not essential.
• Engagement in safety and quality training programs, including Lockout Tagout, PPE, Forklift operation, Emergency Procedures, and Preventative Maintenance.
