What We Are Looking For

Yazaki is looking for a motivated Summer Intern to join our Operation Planning and Optimization team in Canton, Michigan. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, results-oriented environment and is eager to make meaningful contributions to the organization. This internship runs full-time from May 11, 2026 to August 15, 2026.

What You Will Be Doing

• Project Work : Re-write “end to end” Operation Planning process, including improvements.
• Success Metrics: Reduce timeline for production allocation from 10 weeks to 8 weeks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Operation Planning, Operation optimization, Business Units, Engineering and Manufacturing to improve roles and responsibility, adjusting current process for on lean and faster decision making.

What You Will Bring To The Table

• Education: Enrollment in a 4-year degree program at an accredited institution during the internship period. Pursuing a degree in industrial engineering (ideal). Other options include Supply Chain/Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Analytics).
• Relevant Background: Degree/experience related to the position (e.g., Process flow, roles and responsibility connecting Manufacturing and Production planning).
• Academic Standing: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Commitment : Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks between May 11, 2026, and August 14, 2026
• Technical Skills : Process flows, lean manufacturing and program management understanding.
• Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
