Position Summary
Crossroads Counseling is seeking a full-time, in-person therapist specializing in family and marriage counseling. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills in working with couples and families and be comfortable integrating Christian principles into therapy when requested by clients. This role is well-suited for a licensed professional experienced in faith-informed care, including counseling from a Biblical worldview.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide counseling to couples, families, and individuals experiencing relational, emotional, and life challenges
- Conduct assessments and create individualized treatment plans
- Support couples and families in developing healthy communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Facilitate sessions addressing marital enrichment, parenting strategies, and family dynamics
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and supervision
- Incorporate faith-based principles into sessions when aligned with client goals
- Deliver care that reflects the mission and values of Crossroads Counseling
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or Doctorate in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work, or a related field
- Fully licensed (preferred) in the State of Michigan (LPC, LLP, LP, LMSW, LMFT, etc.)
- Minimum five years of counseling experience
- Clinical experience in marriage counseling
- Specialized training or certification in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) preferred
- Strong therapeutic skills, empathy, and ability to engage couples and families
- Experience integrating faith-based counseling when requested
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Note: While we serve clients from a range of backgrounds, the ability to respectfully and appropriately incorporate Christian principles into counseling, when requested by clients, is a central part of this role.
