The Role A Presidio Solutions Architecture Manger (SAM) is a customer facing Presales leader that leads a team of highly skilled, geographically dispersed technical Solution Architects. The SAM works with sales, professional services, and vendor / OEM partners for the purpose of transforming the customer experience through the alignment of business goals and objectives to Presidio consulting services & solution architectures. The SAM partners with their regional leaders of sales and Professional Services to exceed annual goals for revenue, growth and profitability. The SAM is also responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining top Solution Architecture talent on their team. This is a critical role as Presidio continues to grow a strong solution-oriented sales and professional services business Travel Requirements In this role you will be expected to travel up to 25% within the region. It will be based in the Great Lakes or Indianapolis area. Job Responsibilities- Enable Culture and Advocacy. Recognize the accomplishments and demonstrate the impact of presales team members. Work across internal business units and leadership to identify and be able to provide presales team with resources needed to succeed. Share methods, content, and lessons learned with others. - Individual Contributor Growth. Set role expectations with team members and execute on collaborative growth assessments and plans for each team member against exemptions. Actively mentor and enable others.
- Sales Alignment and Strategy. Lead partnership with area Sales Managers and Account Managers to develop and execute joint go-to-market (GTM) strategies and programs. Actively engage these partners to develop meaningful feedback loops and collaborate on innovation.
- Talent Management. Recruit and attract talent aligned to the needs of the business. Create individual development plans to advance the competencies of the team and to provide career growth.
- Professional Services and Delivery Alignment and Strategy. Partner with Area and Region services delivery leaders to develop and execute strategies and programs. Actively engage these partners to review delivery metrics and collaborate on optimizations. Review and approve services delivery proposals as needed.
- Account and Opportunity Leadership. Align resources to the right opportunities and drive a presales process to gain the technical win. Ensure that teams are positioning the appropriate services and documenting detailed customer requirements and expectations. Actively participate in client account related activities that establish the Solution Architecture team as a trusted advisor internally and with customers, such as: Account planning, EBCs, social events, etc. Actively participate in key opportunities to improve outcomes, gain feedback and insights, and create meaningful mentorship opportunities.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain long-term loyal client relationships, as well as establish and attack/convert competitively held accounts. Be in front of clients as much as possible both virtually and in-person to present Presidio solutions and to gain knowledge about the clients' business requirements. Engage Director/VP/CIO level at clients directly.
- Vendor Partner Alignment and Strategy. Lead partnership and build meaningful relationships with area vendor partner sales and presales to develop and execute joint Go-to-market (GTM) strategies and programs.
- Presales Innovation. Lead presales innovation for relevant focus areas. Map current state, seek feedback from stakeholders, and create collaborative plans to drive innovation in presales measures, process, tools, and reporting.
- Business Travel. Ability to travel to meet customers up to 25% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
- 7+ years of experience in pre-sales and solution architecture
- Knowledge and experience with architecture, design, implementation and/or support of one or more of the following IT areas / solution sets is required:
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google GCP
- Cloud Architecture, Cloud Operating Models, Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE)
- Cloud Workload Migrations Methodologies
- Application Architecture and Development
- Data Platform Architecture and Development
- Cloud Management Platforms: Service Now, Jira, Miro Focus Cloud Service Automation, VMware vRealize Automation, Cloudify, Morpheus, Cloudbolt, Turbonomics
- Compute and Storage Architectures & Platforms: Hyperconverged, SAN, Converged, Cisco, Dell EMC, HP, Pure, NetApp
- SDDC & Virtualization: VMware, Red Hat, HyperV, Nutanix
- Data Protection Platforms: Dell EMC, Rubrik, Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault
- Container platforms: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu
- Infrastructure as Code Tools : Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager
- Demonstrated comfort leading presentations, solution demonstrations and whiteboard sessions
- Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, in written and oral form, to a variety of audiences
- Strong customer service skills and service orientation focus

- Security, Compliance & Governance frameworks and tools
- CI/CD pipelines and tools: Jenkins, Concourse
- Authentication / Authorization, Directory services
- Agile practices and frameworks: Kanban, SAFe, Scrum
- Program management or project management experience
- Experience driving complex multi-discipline IT projects
- Experience and/or ability to prepare RFP/RFI response, proposals and solutions
- Demonstrated comfort leading CIO/CTO level presentations, solution demonstrations and whiteboard sessions
- Experience with reviewing and/or writing statements of work (SOW) and Bill of Material (BoM) for various types of projects in support of Cloud and datacenter solutions
