About the Role

iLiv ai is seeking a Creative Lead & User Interface (UI) Designer who thrives on design, innovation, and problem-solving. In this role, you will partner with product and engineering leaders to design elegant, user-friendly digital experiences that evolve as we better understand our users’ needs.

As the team’s primary creative voice, you’ll drive design strategy, lead UI direction, and collaborate with stakeholders across iLiv ai—including our TrueTrack product (Welcome - TrueTrack). You’ll guide product teams from early concepts and mockups through to polished, optimized interfaces, ensuring that every interaction feels purposeful and intuitive.

This is a role for a strong UI designer who can work iteratively, communicate design decisions effectively, and balance what’s valuable, feasible, and delightful for users as our products grow.

Work Environment: Hybrid with 2.5 days in the office (Dearborn, MI)

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership

• Serve as the design lead across digital products, setting the vision for UI and user experience.
• Provide strategic input on product direction while collaborating closely with creative, product, and engineering partners.
• Advocate for user-centered design, ensuring usability, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and visual clarity.
• Design within existing design systems and evolve our component libraries as needed.

User Experience & UI Design

• Translate user research and product requirements into low-fidelity wireframes, storyboards, and user journey maps.
• Create responsive, high-fidelity UI designs and interactive prototypes in Figma (including micro-interactions and animations).
• Use AI-enabled design tools (e.g., Figma Make, Replit) to quickly iterate concepts and gather team feedback.
• Visualize complex data through clean, comprehensible designs (charts, dashboards, etc.).
• Contribute to brand-consistent digital design across product, web, and marketing touchpoints.

Collaboration & Handoff

• Work closely with product managers to prioritize features and refine requirements.
• Partner with front-end developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation.
• Deliver annotated final designs for smooth engineering handoff.
• Actively recommend innovative features, UI enhancements, and engagement opportunities.

Communication & Process

• Present design rationale clearly, tailoring the level of detail to different stakeholders.
• Confidently articulate the role of UI design versus graphic design in the product development process.
• Proactively schedule design reviews and syncs with cross-functional partners.
• Manage multiple projects, tracking timelines and deliverables independently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UI design for digital products.
• Degree in Design, HCI, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience valued.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design process.
• Expert in Figma with experience in design systems and prototyping.
• Knowledge of user-centered design principles and responsive/adaptive design best practices.
• Strong eye for typography, color, layout, and data visualization.
• Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, design-driven product team.
• Skilled at balancing multiple priorities and managing timelines.
