POSITION SUMMARY

Formulates scope and objectives through research to develop or modify custom developed applications. Reviews details specifications and recommends modifications. Coordinates the design, writing, and maintenance of application programs. Designs, codes, tests, and debugs application programs as needed.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• Partners with business stakeholders and process owners in the research, evaluation, development, and implementation of creative solutions that promote higher productivity, lower cost, and improved customer experience.
• Participates in process re-engineering efforts in pursuit of greater quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Analyzes and documents business requirements for projects.
• Designs and documents high quality solutions to meet business needs, in collaboration with Systems Analysts and Administrators.
• Develops solutions working within the framework of the preferred technologies.
• Creates unit testing and debugging of custom software solutions.
• Develops exception handling and error notification in the software to notify business stakeholders of exceptions that could affect transaction accuracy or completion. Performs test scenarios, and regression testing as assigned to ensure software quality.
• Provides input into refinement of software development SOPs, policies, and best practices.
• Assists the efforts of project managers to ensure project success.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

• Where appropriate, provides technical expertise to the analysis, design, development, and implementation of IT systems.
• Administers Source Code management system.
• Any other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree with a major in CIS, Computer Science, or Business Administration preferred.
• Work Experience: 5-7 years of experience in IT applications development.
• Strong knowledge of business processes.
• Strong IT technical knowledge and skill set.
• Strong organizational, analytic, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of relevant programming languages.
• Understanding of required data structures.
