Inspection Technician | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $43,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs to verify product specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances and corrective actions taken.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and quality standards to ensure compliance.
• Identify and report product defects, deviations, and trends to production and quality management.
• Initiate and manage the quarantine or rejection of non-conforming materials.
• Assist in the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment as required.

Recommended Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify visual and dimensional defects.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, report generation, and using quality management software.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT) certification
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software and data interpretation
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Proficiency in programming or operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
