JOB SUMMARY
Saint Croix is seeking a Seasonal Retail Sales Associate to join our team in Birmingham, MI. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a vital role in driving store sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for every customer. Your ability to connect with customers, understand their needs, and offer personalized solutions will be crucial in achieving sales goals and fostering customer loyalty.
You will be responsible for greeting customers, assisting them with product selection, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, a passion for retail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Part-time: 25-30 hours per week. Availability for evenings until 6:00 and weekends is required. Hourly rate plus commission .
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Opening and closing duties
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting shoppers in selecting clothing and accessories that complement their personal style
- Build lasting relationships with customers, offering personalized service to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a deep knowledge of Saint Croix products and assist customers in understanding the craftsmanship and quality behind each item
- Ensure a visually appealing store presentation, keeping displays and inventory organized and in excellent condition
- Support sales goals by consistently meeting or exceeding individual and store targets
- Manage each sales process from beginning to end with professionalism and care
- Continuous communication with the Store Manager to ensure consistent customer service
- POS System proficiency – process transactions, manage inventory, handle payments
- Complete all tasks given in a timely and efficient manner
- Light cleaning
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Customer Service – active listening to customer needs, patience and empathy towards customers frustrations and the ability to clearly communicate.
- Excellent sales skills – persuasive, upselling and cross-selling, strong product knowledge with a goal to meet or exceed target goals.
- Great interpersonal and people skills - work well with teams, resolve customer conflicts, build relationships through trust and positive experiences
- Excellent organizational skills, time-management and multitasking
- Basic computer skills to navigate store software and email communication
- Adaptable to changing tasks, store layouts, products and store promotions
- Attendance is an essential function of the position
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School education
- 1 year of retail experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Regularly
- Communicates via in person, phone or email
- Required to stand for long periods of time – stocking inventory, merchandising, customer service
- Operates a computer and other office equipment such as cash register and printer
- Visually must be able to see color and patterns to coordinate outfits, create displays and organize products
Frequently
- Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions
Occasionally
- Required to sit, perform keyboard work
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Standard retail environment. The noise level is usually low, due to office equipment.
