Help Desk Technician | Cadillac, MI

Salary Range: $44,000 - $69,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues across office and production environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with manufacturing-specific applications, industrial PCs, and shop floor equipment (e.g., scanners, label printers).
• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of workstations, peripherals, and software for new and existing employees.
• Log, track, and prioritize all support requests in the ticketing system, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
• Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT teams or external vendors while maintaining ownership of the ticket.
• Assist with basic network troubleshooting and connectivity issues affecting critical production systems.
• Support mobile devices and communication tools utilized by manufacturing and operations personnel.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network connectivity issues (Windows OS, Microsoft 365).
• Experience supporting IT equipment common in manufacturing environments (e.g., industrial printers, barcode scanners, handheld terminals).
• Strong customer service and communication skills to effectively assist users on a factory floor.
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize disruption to production operations.
• Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) ticketing systems and documentation best practices.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing-specific software (e.g., ERP, MES, SCADA)
• Familiarity with industrial hardware (e.g., barcode scanners, label printers, ruggedized PCs)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and shop floor operations
• Knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) networks and industrial protocols
• OSHA or other industrial safety certifications/awareness
