Position Overview

The Digital Content Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing Visit Casper’s content strategy across various channels, including visitcasper.com, multiple social media platforms, email marketing, and digital advertising. This role requires a mix of creativity, strategy, local on-the-ground knowledge, and technical expertise to drive engagement, increase visitation, and enhance Casper’s brand as a must-visit destination.

Visit Casper is the official destination marketing organization for Natrona County, Wyoming. Our mission is to be a driving force that draws visitors to Natrona County in support of our local economy and quality of life. Through strategic marketing, sales, destination development, and community engagement efforts, Visit Casper promotes the Casper area as a premier destination for leisure travel, meetings, conferences, sporting events, and outdoor recreation.

Content Strategy & Management

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with Visit Casper’s brand, goals, and target audiences.
  • Create and manage an editorial calendar to ensure a steady flow of engaging and relevant content.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to source, develop, and distribute compelling content.
  • Be ready to share in-the-moment insights into what is current in the community, allowing followers to connect personally.

Writing & Editing

  • Craft engaging blog posts, website content, itineraries, and promotional copy that showcase Casper’s unique and often one-of-a-kind experiences.
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand voice.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

  • Oversee Visit Casper’s social media strategy, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement.
  • Monitor social media trends and audience interactions to enhance engagement and reach.
  • Work with influencers, photographers, and videographers to generate high-quality content.
  • Create and share in-the-moment social media posts that engage followers in a timely, emotional level.
  • Create and manage a social media editorial calendar that ensures a steady flow of engaging and relevant content.
  • Create and manage social media posts that speak to their distinct audience on each platform using the form and voice appropriate to each (IG, Facebook, TikTok, Linked In, etc.)

Website & SEO

  • Manage website content updates and optimization for SEO and user experience.
  • Assist in the transition and planning of new visitcasper.com.
  • Assist in the transition to and development of new CRM system.
  • Track website performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Analytics & Performance Tracking

  • Use data-driven insights to measure content effectiveness and optimize strategies.
  • Monitor KPIs such as engagement rates, website traffic, and social media growth.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic graphic design, photo and/or video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Photography
  • Videography
  • Knowledge of paid social and digital advertising strategies.
  • Experience working with destination organizations or in the travel industry.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
  • Project management tools such as Asana to ensure that deadlines are met, and teammates are supported.
  • Impeccable business practices: fiscal stewardship, professionalism, responsiveness and follow-through.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time (i.e. representing Visit Casper at conferences, tradeshows and/or receptions), sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone and telephone keyboard. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. The employee will occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee should be able to speak clearly and hear well when communicating over the phone and in person. The individual must be able to travel independently throughout the state, potentially traveling on domestic and/or international destinations via commercial airlines.
