Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift, Direct Hire (Dowagiac, MI)

Position Overview

The maintenance technician ensures optimal operation of plant machinery, mechanical equipment, grounds, and associated functions. This role is full-time and provides health / vision / dental benefits, PTO, etc. This role reports to the maintenance supervisor.

Shifts Available :

• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Starting Pay Range:

• $24 - $27/hr. + $2 shift differential

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing shift start up or shift shut down
• Opening or closing the building
• Performing preventative maintenance on items such as motors, pneumatic tools, robotics, vacuum forming ovens and production machines
• Performing emergency repairs
• Machine Recipe Management
• Ignition programming and maintenance
• Process requests through the internal work order program

Required Skills and Abilities

• Willing and able to work past scheduled hours when necessary
• Must have good math, reading, and writing skills
• Good problem solving and root cause skill
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to articulate and comprehend complex environments
• Works well alone and in a team environment

Education and Experience

• 3+ years’ experience with industrial maintenance & machine troubleshooting
• 1 year experience using Lean Manufacturing Tools
• Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, electric, and electronics maintenance
• Knowledge and experience with forklifts; willing and able to receive forklift certification
• Valid Driver’s License
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 50lbs+
• Prolonged periods of standing and working on feet
• Some exposure to high noise levels and hazardous materials
