Veterinary Assistant, Technician and Receptionist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and veterinary procedures, with experience in various clinical settings. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with animals, support veterinary professionals, and contribute to high-quality pet healthcare. Candidates with kennel experience, veterinary critical care experience, laboratory skills, and animal handling expertise are highly encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Cornerstone sopftware is a plusOur clinic is open Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures
• Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff
• Conduct laboratory tests including sample collection and analysis
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
• Prepare animals for surgical procedures, including animal catheterization and aseptic techniques
• Maintain detailed medical records and update patient files accurately
• Assist with pet grooming, pet care, and animal husbandry tasks
• Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and perform radiographs
• Provide dog training support and handle animals during various procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of the clinic environment following infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary technician experience or related animal care background preferred
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and pet care practices
• Experience with kennel management, dental terminology, laboratory procedures, and animal restraint techniques
• Skills in animal catheterization, X-ray operation, aseptic technique, and pet grooming are desirable
• Strong animal handling skills including dog handling and equine experience is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach toward animals and clients
• Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician is preferred but not required

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
