Job Summary

KAM Plastics Corp is seeking an experienced and results-driven Materials Manager to lead material planning, purchasing, inventory control, and logistics operations supporting both domestic and Mexico manufacturing facilities. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support customer delivery, operational efficiency, and profitability.

The ideal candidate will bring strong supply chain leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, excellent ERP/MRP knowledge, and a proven ability to drive continuous improvement and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead materials planning, purchasing, inventory control, and logistics operations
• Develop and maintain master production schedules based on forecasts, demand, and capacity
• Establish inventory strategies and reduce excess or obsolete inventory
• Procure raw materials, tooling, components, and capital equipment at optimal total cost
• Manage supplier selection, development, and performance initiatives
• Resolve supplier quality and nonconforming material issues
• Provide leadership and accountability for purchasing, shipping, receiving, and materials teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and Finance
• Develop KPIs, departmental goals, budgets, and strategic operational plans
• Support continuous improvement and long-term planning initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in materials, purchasing, or supply chain within manufacturing
• Plastics manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems, inventory management, production planning, and procurement
• Proven leadership and continuous improvement experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
