Operating Room RN Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100–$2150
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Healthcare Setting: Operating Room – Surgical Services
• Location: South Bend, Indiana (46601)
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: December 29, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 4x10-hour evening shifts (1:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirements: 1–2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule; 1–2 days of possible 4-hour shift extension for unfinished cases (weekdays); holiday rotation
• Weekend Requirement: 1–2 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Charting System: Cerner EMR (experience required)
• Scrub Color: Provided
• Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state; pending license accepted if active by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (trauma experience required)
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS (pending certifications accepted if obtained prior to start)
• Proficiency in robotic, orthopedic, neuro, and vascular surgical cases
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules

Key Responsibilities for OR RN

• Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care in a dynamic operating room environment
• Assist with a range of surgical procedures, including trauma, neuro, orthopedic, and vascular cases
• Demonstrate expertise in robotic-assisted surgeries and orthopedic interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Float to affiliate hospitals in the South Bend area as needed based on patient volume
• Participate in weekend, holiday, and call rotations as scheduled
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to professional nursing standards and hospital policies
