Direct Hire - Industrial Maintenance Technician 3rd shift

Pro Services, Inc. has a direct hire opportunity in Grand Rapids, MI for a leading adhesive manufacturer. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of maintenance experience. Their experience should include a heavy amount of mechanical experience, intermediate knowledge/experience with pumps and basic knowledge/experience with electrical systems. Having worked in an environment with PLC systems and basic understanding of troubleshooting ladder logic is a plus. The right candidate should be a team player who is ready to learn and is willing to do what is needed to help get the job done.

This position will work a 2-2-3 schedule on 3rd shift 6p-6:30a. Training will be on 1st shift for the first 4-6months.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on equipment and facility systems to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime
• Perform maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, chillers, process equipment, generators, and general facility systems with minimal supervision.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust mechanical components as needed.
• Manage preventive maintenance through CMMS to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, purchases, and maintenance activities.
• Work under the guidance of senior mechanics or the Facility Engineer as needed.
• Install new equipment within the scope of knowledge and ability.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ensure safety procedures, including startup/shutdown and lockout/tagout, are strictly followed.
• Operate forklifts, highboys, scissor lifts, and other lifts.
• Prioritize customer needs and remain flexible with shifting priorities.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with CMMS, preventive, and predictive maintenance.
• 3-5+ years of technical training and experience.

  • 3+ years electrical experience
  • 1+ year PLC knowledge/troubleshooting experience.

Preferred Experience

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Pipefitting, machining, metal fabrication, and electrical skills.
• Experience operating and maintaining boilers, chillers, compressors, and process controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex pneumatic control systems, electrical schematics, and process piping systems.
• PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Certified to work on refrigeration equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stretch, and stoop.
• Frequently required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. alone and over 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Must be able to safely work at elevated heights, including on ladders and roofs.
• Ability to operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment.
• Work environment may involve exposure to industrial machinery, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
• Heavy wrench turning and the use of proper PPE for chemicals used at the facility.
