Prototype Technician
Join our team as a Prototype Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the build of test equipment. This equipment is vital for various automotive clients and contributes significantly to projects at major automotive companies worldwide. Based in Ann Arbor, MI, this role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Assemble emissions analyzers from the ground up for delivery to customer sites.
- Perform calibration and assembly of electrical and mechanical components.
- Diagnose issues with returned units and complete in-house repairs and full refurbishment of older equipment.
- Provide technical support to end customers via phone or Microsoft Teams.
- In-depth knowledge of electronics repair and ability to troubleshoot to component level.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working on industrial, automation, or testing equipment with the ability to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain.
- In-depth knowledge of electronic test equipment.
- Ability to work on-site in Ann Arbor 5 days per week.
- Experience in emissions level troubleshooting and repair is preferred.
- Technical Associate's Degree is preferred but not required with hands-on experience.
- Military experience is advantageous.
- Experience from competitors such as AVL or any emissions equipment supplier is preferred.
The position requires the technician to be on-site at the Ann Arbor location five days per week. There is limited flexibility for occasional work-from-home days, which may be granted in special circumstances such as severe weather. On remote workdays, technicians must remain fully accessible and maintain communication.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr.
