Purpose:
This is an AmeriCorps Program designed to strengthen Wyoming’s statewide network of Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) agencies in their shared mission to alleviate poverty and promote economic mobility. Rooted in the values of community empowerment, collaboration, and accountability, the program serves rural and underserved communities across Wyoming by enhancing the effectiveness of local agencies through data-informed strategies, capacity-building, and resource coordination. Guided by principles of equity, sustainability, and local leadership, this AmeriCorps Program supports efforts that ensure public funds are used efficiently and that solutions are locally driven and community-centered.
In this AmeriCorps Position, the member will support CSNOW’s mission by collecting and analyzing statewide data to identify service gaps, assisting local organizations with capacity-building efforts, and improving systems for collaboration and resource sharing. The member’s work will strengthen a unified network of agencies working to address poverty, ensuring that both public and private resources are aligned for the greatest impact across Wyoming.
The AmeriCorps VISTA member will build capacity and develop sustainable solutions to alleviate poverty in underserved communities.
Description of Duties:
The AmeriCorps member will serve in a capacity-building role with the Community Services Network of Wyoming (CSNOW), helping to strengthen local organizations that work to reduce poverty across the state. Duties will include:
- Collecting and analyzing data from across Wyoming to identify service gaps and areas with the greatest need
- Creating easy-to-understand reports and visuals that help guide decision-making and improve how resources are used
- Supporting local organizations by identifying opportunities for training, technical assistance, and shared tools that improve their day-to-day operations
- Helping to build and maintain a strong statewide network by supporting outreach efforts and creating ways for agencies to connect and learn from one another
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of virtual and in-person meetings, trainings, and events that promote collaboration and shared learning
- Improving and maintaining a centralized membership database that helps streamline communication, track engagement, and promote accountability across the network
This position focuses on long-term impact by strengthening the systems and partnerships that help communities thrive.
Qualifications:
- United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien
- At least 18 years of age
- College Graduate
- Agrees to provide information to establish eligibility and to complete a National Service Criminal History Check
Physical Requirements:

Time Requirements:
- Typically, this position is expected to serve full-time (35-40 hours) from 7/14/25 to 7/13/26, but exact schedules may vary.
- Member may be required to participate in national, state, or local service projects or events as part of their service term.
Orientation and Training:
- Member will receive an orientation that includes training on AmeriCorps prohibited and unallowable activities.
- Member will receive a Virtual Member Orientation (VMO) from VISTA on their first day of service.

Evaluation and Reporting:
As an AmeriCorps VISTA member, performance will be evaluated on whether the member has completed their required year of service; the member has satisfactorily completed assignments; and if the member has met other performance criteria that were clearly communicated at the beginning of the term of service.
Reporting requirements include, but are not limited to, bi-weekly timesheets, accomplishment tracking, and quarterly reporting.
