Project Manager
Enhancements & Installation — Full-Service Landscape Company
ABOUT THE COMPANY
We are a full-service landscape company with a strong reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction. Our work spans residential and commercial enhancement and installation projects — from renovations to full landscape installs. We’re growing, we’re busy, and we need a sharp, experienced Project Manager who knows how to run profitable jobs from kickoff to final walkthrough.
THE ROLE
This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of enhancement and installation projects simultaneously — coordinating crews, vendors, and materials while keeping every job on schedule and on budget. You’ll work closely with our estimating and sales team on the front end, and with our operations team through execution and closeout. Profitability is a core part of your scorecard here, not an afterthought.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Profitability
Monitor labor hours, material costs, and subcontractor spend against budget in real time. Flag overruns early and take corrective action.
Scheduling & Coordination
Build and maintain project schedules. Coordinate crew assignments, material deliveries, and subcontractor timing across multiple active jobs.
Crew Leadership
Direct and support field crews and foremen. Set daily expectations and ensure quality standards are met on every project.
Client Communication
Own the client relationship during execution. Communicate updates proactively, manage change orders professionally, and resolve issues quickly.
Material & Vendor Management
Source and procure plant material, supplies, and equipment. Build supplier relationships that support competitive pricing.
Documentation & Reporting
Keep accurate project records including daily logs, labor tickets, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
Scope Management
Identify scope creep early, document changes accurately, and execute change orders in a timely manner to protect project margin.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Minimum 5 years in a project management role within a landscape, horticulture, or related outdoor services company — not just a field supervisor title, but actual PM responsibility.
• Demonstrated track record of keeping jobs profitable — you know how to read a job cost report, protect margin, and make adjustments when a project is drifting off budget.
• Hands-on knowledge of landscape installation and enhancement work — plant material, hardscape, irrigation, grading, and seasonal color. You can walk a job and know immediately what’s right and what isn’t.
• Strong technology proficiency — comfortable using project management platforms (such as Aspire, LMN, Buildertrend, or equivalent), scheduling tools, digital job costing, and mobile field apps. We run a tech-forward operation and expect our PMs to do the same.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously without losing track of the details on any of them.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills — you can talk to a client, a crew foreman, and a vendor in the same hour and adjust your approach for each.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A reliable personal vehicle is required for your commute; a company vehicle will be available for travel between the office and job sites during the workday.
• Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions with a hands-on presence on job sites throughout the week.
WHAT PROFITABILITY FOCUS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
We’re transparent about this: keeping jobs profitable is not a bonus metric here — it’s a core function of the role. We expect our PM to:
Review job cost weekly
Catch & document scope creep
Manage labor efficiency
Execute change orders promptly
Reduce material waste
Report variances to leadership
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, with performance incentives tied to job profitability and project outcomes.
• Benefits package discussed during the interview process.
• Company vehicle for job site travel
• Paid time off and paid holidays.
• Uniforms and field equipment provided.
• Opportunity for growth — strong performers are recognized and have a path into senior operations or leadership roles as the company continues to expand.
