Salary Range: $61,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Traverse City that are seeking skilled HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, technical, and administrative roles within the manufacturing facility.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures on the plant floor.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies, with a strong focus on manufacturing safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, including payroll processing, health insurance, and workers' compensation claims.
- Develop and deliver HR-related training programs, including new hire orientation, safety training, and leadership development for supervisors.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and corrective action plans for all levels of staff.
Recommended Qualifications
- 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with a significant portion in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws, including OSHA regulations, applicable to manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and benefits administration.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and strong analytical skills for HR reporting and compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.
Bonus Qualifications
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety program support
- Experience with labor relations or in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to support a diverse workforce
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies
