Who We Are

The CLinical and Engineering Approaches to Readmissions (CLEAR) Working Group is a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional group that conducts research to develop strategies to reduce the burden of hospital readmissions. The group, established in 2012, consists of a unique multidisciplinary team of academic clinicians, trainees (e.g., medical fellows, residents, and students as well as graduate students), nurses, and industrial engineers, and has published over 15 manuscripts on readmissions. This work is led by Drs. Bruce Jacobs and Tudor Borza, who serve as Co-Directors.

Responsibilities*

Responsibilities

The CLEAR Working Group is currently looking for a motivated individual who will serve as clinical information analyst for a newly funded, multisite, pilot clinical trial for bladder cancer patients undergoing surgery. Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Gathers, analyzes, and interprets data and clinical trial data to identify opportunities to improve the quality of care for patients
• Prepares reports based on measures of processes and outcomes of care
• Serves as a clinical trial project manager for a pilot trial including
• Regulatory oversight including IRB process and compliance with ClinicalTrials.gov
• Screening, consent and enrolment of patients into trial
• Data entry and management
• Training, and support of study team members both internally and externally
• Oversees academic activities showcasing the clinical trial and quality improvement findings and successes

Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor's degree
• 3 years of experience in analyzing and interpreting processes and clinical outcomes.

Desired Qualifications*

• Experience in working with a database and project/program management and with management of clinical trials.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
• Efficient in RedCap, Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Ability to work in a team, as well as be self-sufficient, motivated and organized.

Modes of Work

Additional Information

This is a 2 year term-limited appointment. At the end of the stated term, your appointment will terminate, and you will not be eligible for Reduction-in-Force (RIF) benefits. This term-limited appointment does not create a contract or guarantee of employment for any period of time as you will remain subject to disciplinary or other performance measures, up to and including termination, at the will of the University in accordance with existing University policy and standards for employee performance and conduct.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
