Senior Software Engineer, C++ Deploy

Meet the team:
The Deploy team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling and infrastructure for engineers and teams across Latitude to be able to build and deploy software on our driver assistance system, and we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, including a proven track record of delivering a production software update system. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features, optimize performance, and ensure the scalability of our software deployment solution.
What you’ll do:
- Design and deliver software solutions that enable robust software deployment, including participation in design and code reviews
- Collaborate internally with Product, Safety, and Security teams to ensure Latitude delivers fast, secure, and robust software updates to our engineers and customers
- Architect and implement tests across different modalities to ensure that software deployment works well with other technologies at Latitude
- Author and present summaries to peers and leadership, and be able to dive into the details when needed
What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or PhD)
- Proficiency with the C++ programming language, and the ability to learn/apply other languages and technologies as needed
- Demonstrated experience with Linux systems development, ideally in an embedded context
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with Python
- Experience with build systems, Bazel in particular
- Experience with Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) and gRPC
- Experience with robotics and/or IoT
