Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications for first article parts.
• Perform comprehensive dimensional, visual, and functional inspections on initial production samples.
• Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, including CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Verify material certifications, special process compliance, and other documentation against requirements.
• Generate and maintain accurate First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with industry standards (e.g., AS9102).
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances and potential quality issues to relevant departments.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including advanced knowledge of GD&T.
• Proficiency in operating and calibrating a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, CMMs).
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing environment, with specific First Article Inspection (FAI) experience preferred.
• Demonstrated meticulous attention to detail and excellent documentation skills for accurate record-keeping and report generation.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on product quality.

Bonus Qualifications

• ASQ certification (e.g., Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Technician)
• Experience with CMM programming or advanced metrology software
• Familiarity with specific industry quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 13485)
• Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) or other data analysis techniques
• Experience mentoring or training other quality personnel
